Has anyone gotten into grad school (not med or law, but something
humanities-based) with a GPA under a 3? I have a 2.9 and it’s driving me nuts.
I’m doing one post-BA class next semester, though I’m not sure how big a
difference that will make to grad committees and I’m just kind of looking for
some advice or real life experiences to ease my mind.
confession n. A written or oral statement acknowledging guilt, made by one who has been accused or charged with an offense.
It is the confession, not the priest, that gives us absolution.

It's kind of like being in someone's head while they're praying or thinking about things they'd never say outloud.

I don’t have personal experience with this directly, but when I left high school my grades were really really bad. I managed to get into community college and did a 2-year program before I was able to get accepted into university. You should talk to your student advisors first and check what would be your best options, but doing school for another year or so wouldn’t be a bad thing, I don’t think.

Good grief…I’ve got a 3.71 and I’m worried about grad school. What is the minimum for grad school in the humanities, generally? I’m not looking to go to a top tier school, either. Just trying to get my Masters, that’s all.

#2 - 3.71 is good!! I have about a 3.6 overall average and I was told I will get into grad school with no problems (I’m applying right now actually)…for my program, the school website says a minimum B average…
To the OP, ask your student advisors if the grad committee will accept you doing a few extra courses to boost your grades (if you don’t have the minimum GPA). Or contact the grad department of the school you are interested and just ask what your best options are. They usually will be willing to help you out…

#3 - Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve heard that 3.71 may be a just little low for grad school and that I would need a strong GRE score to help. I’ve been worried about it, that’s for sure. Thanks!
