I have a question, more than a confession. I am a senior and I have three
related majors. I’ve taken my fair share of senior level courses, even as a
sophomore and junior, and even have six hours of graduate level work. When I
declared into my third major, I didn’t realize that I would need another
humanities (two majors are in humanities, one is in social science), so Spring
of 08 I took an intro to lit class (I didn’t want to jump into a high level
course in a humanities department that I’m unfamiliar with). I also needed an
into course in my third field, so I got that taken care of this semester.
Next semester is my final semester and I have several choices as to what
classes will fill my remaining two requirements. One of the courses I would
like to take is a high-freshman level course (18xx) while the other is a
high-senior level course (48xx). Will it look bad to grad school admission
offices if I didn’t take all senior courses in my senior year and had some
lower level courses sprinkled in? I must admit, the first chunk of my college
education, I was not the best student in all areas, and I do not want a grad
school to look at my last 60 hours for my senior GPA and think “oh, it’s high
because she took bullshit classes.” Does anyone have advice on this?
I have been staying at th BF’s while waiting for my new place to open up, but go
